In order to achieve its mission, MAM:

Extends programs to targeted urban neighborhoods through strategic placement of neighborhood youth centers

o     Memphis Grizzlies Athletic Center (Alcy/Ball), MAM-Whitehaven (Whitehaven), MAM-Brinkley Heights (N. Memphis), MAM- Olivet Fellowship (Parkway Village), MAM-Salvation Army (Parkway Village) & MAM-Sacred Heart (Midtown) are current neighborhood centers

o        Over 500 youth per day participate in MAM's after school recreation program; more than 5,900 individual youth visited the MAM centers in the last 12 months

Promotes sportsmanlike behavior of players, coaches & fans by creating a nurturing environment

o        Expectations for conduct & behavior always communicated; coaches trained to mentor players

Bridges geographic, cultural & socio-economic differences by offering quality athletic programs to everyone & scheduling play outside traditional neighborhoods

o        Over 8,000 youth, ages 6-18, involved in MAM organized sports; 59% urban/41% non-urban participant mix

Empowers partners to attract more participants to their activities by organizing & administering year round athletic programs

o      57 urban churches, 9 urban schools & 61 non-urban churches/schools partners who provide coaches that develop “1-on-1” mentoring relationships with the youth
