Responsibilities
• Give general oversight to all aspects of our student ministry including programs, small groups, outreach opportunities, mission trips, and volunteers
• Grow designated age group in reach and in depth as a coach and mentor
• Coach a team in various sports (basketball, soccer, flag football)
• Serve as a tutor in classroom situation from time to time
• Help create and maintain daily activities for after school programs
• Manage daily operation of after school programs and cleanliness of the facility
• Work hand in hand with staff as a team
• Conduct weekly Bible studies as well as daily devotional talks to groups of 30 or more
• Submit paperwork and documentation of activities weekly
• Basic computer skills needed in Microsoft Word and Excel
• LOVE KIDS, LOVE JESUS, LOVE TO SERVE AND WORK AS UNTO THE LORD
Character
• Need to be a follower of Jesus Christ reflecting our values in their walk with Him
• Need to be pursuing a lifestyle of reaching out across racial lines with the love of Christ
• Need to be able to strike the balance between challenging students growth and expectations while navigating urban culture
Skills
• Be able to communicate the Word of God effectively in large and small group settings as well as one on one
• An interest to use sports as a connecting point with kids (playing and coaching)
• Be able to develop a relationship with the parents of our students in such a way that not only do they feel informed and included in the ministry itself, but challenged to see our ministry as a support to the Biblical mandate for parents to disciple their children and prepare them for life
