Volunteering with MAM

If you want to make a difference in the lives of our youth, we invite you to join our team of volunteers.

Volunteering at MAM When you volunteer with MAM, we consider you a MENTOR and we view ANY time you spend with our students as potential “teaching moments”. Whether you are coaching a team, helping a student with his/her homework, or simply handing him/her a hot plate of food. you have the opportunity to touch the life of a young person in a positive way.

Individual Opportunities

Coach/Assistant Coach - Become a volunteer coach or assistant coach with a basketball or flag-football team! Use your knowledge of sports to teach our youth the fundamentals of the game while motivating them to work hard and have fun. We also need golf enthusiasts who can help our young golfers navigate the course.

Team Fan - Simply by attending games and cheering for our youth, you will help create a fun, encouraging and exciting environment for our MAM sports teams. This is a great family or group activity. You could even bring drinks or snacks to the games for players to enjoy afterwards.

Academic Diligence - Take part in homework help by assisting kids with their studies after
school. Offered at nine sites every Monday through Thursday, homework help is a major part of the MAM experience. Qualified staff is on site to help guide and support volunteers. Diligence Volunteers are needed between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., and primarily at these sites:

MAM Leawood Neighborhood Center (3638 Macon Road, Memphis, TN 38122)
MAM Olivet Neighborhood Center (4450 Knight Arnold, Memphis, TN 38118)

If you are interested in volunteering with MAM, please download the Volunteer Application, complete it, and return it to us via email, fax, or in person (see form for more details). If you have any questions about our volunteer program, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Angela Moses (volunteer@mamsports.org or 901-244-8534).
